Job Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Manager position at Honda Aircraft Company is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods, shop floor technicians, materials, parts, tooling, and production equipment capabilities while meeting quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage talent development, coach, and develop high-performance teams to achieve manufacturing excellence.
  2. Analyze work requirements and outline schedules and methods to be followed for efficiency and safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Plan, develop, coordinate, assign, and direct small to moderate production teams and processes, leveraging continuous improvement concepts.
  4. Lead the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods, including process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
  5. Estimate staffing requirements and related costs, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  6. Confer with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other related matters to facilitate production processes.
  7. Analyze and plan workforce utilization through continuous improvement concepts, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.
  8. Enforce all Company rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines, maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
  9. Prepare and manage correspondences, reports, and documents related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental matters.
  10. Manage and conduct performance evaluations and feedback, promoting employee growth and development.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. 4 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  3. A&P and/or other related licensure highly preferred.
Preferred Skills
  1. Good knowledge in Continuous Improvement practices.
  2. Basic understanding of manufacturing, production planning, engineering, and finance.
  3. Basic leadership skills.
  4. Basic Project Management skills.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Strong analytical skills.
  7. Familiar with SAP and TeamCenter operation systems preferred.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Lotus Notes).
  9. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with cross-functional areas.
Physical Requirements
  1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
  4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided 'reach assistance technology' or 'movement assist technology' (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
