About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Detect. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our in-house manufacturing strategy, ensuring the efficient and effective production of our diagnostic consumables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day manufacturing processes to drive yield, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Lead Equipment and Process Validation: Determine production equipment needs, lead and perform equipment and process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Design and Develop Manufacturing Fixtures and Equipment: Design, produce, and qualify manufacturing fixtures, plastic laser welding routines, and production test platforms.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Support cross-functional manufacturing efforts with R&D, engineering, and the rest of the operations organization.
  • Lead Process Improvement Initiatives: Organize and prioritize work with minimal guidance, manage priorities, projects, and special requests in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and Implement Key Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor, and analyze key process metrics for day-to-day performance and to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years of Experience: Bachelor's or advanced degree in an engineering field, plus 10 years of relevant experience in medical device engineering and manufacturing, preferably in diagnostic devices and consumables.
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills: A leader that has a passion for all aspects of building robust production processes, with a consistent track record of delivering complex projects from NPI to mass production.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with plastic laser welding, CAD (Solidworks or Fusion), machining, and injection molding, as well as a comprehensive understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes and failure analysis.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with all functions, external partners, and vendors.
