STS Technical Services is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role is vital in addressing production challenges while adhering to cost and specification guidelines and ensuring compliance with aircraft configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing and assembly operations for detailed components.
- Create and maintain documentation to meet customer and regulatory production standards.
- Serve as a communication bridge between design engineering, tooling, machine shop, quality assurance, and production teams, ensuring engineering drawings are accurately interpreted.
- Utilize statistical data analysis, including process capability assessments and throughput metrics, to drive process enhancements.
- Plan and document installation procedures, tooling, equipment, and quality control measures to streamline manufacturing workflows.
- Assist in production planning, manage Bill of Materials (BOM), and oversee Tooling Requests and discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline is highly preferred.
- Six Sigma certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the aerospace sector is required.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with SAP, CAD/CAM, CATIA, and Microsoft Office is essential.
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective management of nonconformance disposition and dwell time.
- Ability to optimize production processes through resource utilization.
- Experience in reducing assembly times and implementing efficiency improvements.
- Proficient in developing and updating planning and routing for aircraft or components.
- Evaluation and execution of process improvements and cost-saving strategies.
- Ensure accuracy in engineering configurations through MBOM transactions.
- Results-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement and achieving targets.
- Promote ethical conduct and contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Ability to cultivate teamwork, build relationships, and appreciate diverse perspectives.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in environments with varying levels of noise, temperature, and dust.
- Capable of performing physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Normal auditory, visual, and speech capabilities are necessary.
- Capacity to lift and move items up to 15 lbs throughout the work shift.
- Ability to handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs or more with appropriate assistive technology.
