Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Direct Personnel: Supervise, direct, and develop personnel in the safe and effective utilization of the plant's manufacturing facilities.
  • Production Management: Produce products to the company's and customer's specifications according to production schedules.
  • Safety and Compliance: Administer the Westlake Safety Program on the production shift level, including conducting safety training, shift meetings, inspections, reporting, incident investigation, and follow-up.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete accurate and timely reports and paperwork, including documents generated during the shift.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Recommend alterations and redesign of equipment through the use of root cause analysis.
  • Performance Management: Direct, supervise, and develop personnel to meet or exceed goals and objectives, including production output, scrap rates, material utilization, and regrind usage.
  • Quality Control: Direct, supervise, and develop personnel within their responsibility with regard to the quality of the product to Westlake standards, including testing and record keeping.
  • Changeover Management: Oversee the effective and timely changeover of production lines to meet customer requirements.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Maintain self-appearance, morals, comments, gestures, befitting a representative of Westlake, and conduct actions on the job with professionalism.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervisory responsibility for designated shift.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma and at least 5 years' experience working in a production environment with a thorough understanding of PVC extrusion cause and effects.
  • Computer Skills: Computer skills, including navigating Microsoft office.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid/cold conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
