Job Summary

Sedgwick is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to oversee the operation of multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for Auto liability claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to provide technical direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise multiple teams of examiners and technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective claims management.
  • Monitor colleagues' workloads, provide training, and monitor individual claim activities to ensure compliance with audit requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide technical direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of claims.
  • Compile and analyze management reports, identifying trends and issues, and recommending courses of action to improve claims management processes.
  • Perform quality reviews on claims, ensuring compliance with audit requirements, service contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Act as a second level of appeal for client and claimant issues, implementing final disposition of appeals.
  • Review reserve amounts on high-cost claims and claims over the authority of individual examiners.
  • Maintain contact with clients, promoting a professional client relationship and providing written resumes of specific claims as requested.
  • Ensure direct reports are properly licensed in the jurisdictions serviced.
  • Ensure claims files are coded correctly and adequate documentation is made by claims examiners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Licenses as required. Professional certifications as applicable to line of business preferred.
  • At least six (6) years of claims experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required, including two (2) years of claims supervisor experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of claims management processes and procedures for multiple product lines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Leadership/management/motivational skills.
  • Analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
