Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Vice President of Production to work alongside an experienced Executive Leadership Team. This key position will lead, nurture, and expand a skilled team while overseeing the operation and growth of the state’s inaugural USDA-licensed vaccine manufacturing facility. The role is crucial for the company's success, encompassing the management of all production facets, including warehousing, logistics, maintenance, safety, quality control, operational metrics, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all production and related operational activities.
  • Effectively allocate resources to fulfill production, warehousing, logistics, and R&D project requirements.
  • Manage production timelines, operational instructions, and inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Site Master Plan.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and propose enhancements for production quality and efficiency.
  • Lead by example, prioritizing personnel and facility safety in all operations.
  • Establish departmental policies regarding staffing, operational hours, and job responsibilities to achieve production objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations for facility operations and documentation pertaining to commercial material production.
  • Guarantee that all team members receive appropriate training for their roles.
  • Develop solutions for complex manufacturing challenges that impact multiple areas.
  • Supervise the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to ensure high-quality data generation, playing a vital role in troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
  • Assume full accountability as the department's representative for capital projects, staffing, and budget management.
  • Maintain accountability for meeting the operational budget while continuously seeking efficiencies through lean processing.
  • Collaborate with R&D to ensure a robust technical transfer process for the rapid scale-up of new vaccine products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least ten years of experience in people and production management.
  • Exceptional communication and team-building capabilities.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring, and motivational skills to inspire team performance.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
  • Experience in individual and team accountability to meet operational expectations.
  • Operational expertise in a USDA-regulated vaccine production environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively lead change initiatives.
  • Experience in team building within a high-growth context is advantageous.
