Job Overview

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the scheduling and allocation of drivers and equipment for our operations, ensuring efficiency in both drop and hook and live load scenarios.

Key responsibilities include utilizing communication tools such as radio, telephone, or computer systems to relay assignments. Proficiency in Excel is essential for effective planning and tracking.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains the daily dispatch schedule for drivers and equipment.
  • Prepares necessary documentation for all shipments.
  • Identifies and arranges backhauls when suitable; provides reports on inbound shipments.
  • Updates and manages inbound and outbound orders within the dispatch software.
  • Addresses driver inquiries promptly regarding breakdowns, directions, and discrepancies in product counts.
  • Monitors driver hours to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Modifies delivery and backhaul assignments to accommodate unforeseen circumstances such as breakdowns or delays.
  • Adheres to attendance policies and arrives on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with at least one year of relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse individuals.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to engage with others beyond simple instructions, demonstrating reasoning and negotiation skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, with frequent interruptions.
  • Requires the ability to get up and down from chairs and perform reaching or bending tasks.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for typical office tasks.
  • Must work collaboratively with colleagues, maintaining a positive attitude.
