Job OverviewPosition Summary

The Dishwasher and Utility Team Member plays a crucial role in upholding cleanliness and sanitation standards within the kitchen environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all dishware, glassware, and cooking utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, utilizing both machine and manual cleaning techniques. Maintaining a tidy and safe dishwashing area is essential to the overall operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting, demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
  • Sort and rinse soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils, placing them in designated racks for machine washing.
  • Organize and stack clean dishes, transporting them to the appropriate storage areas and re-cleaning any items as necessary.
  • Regularly change the dishwater in the machine to ensure optimal cleaning conditions.
  • Manually wash pots, pans, and trays as required.
  • Dispose of trash and waste materials in the designated dumpster.
  • Set up and dismantle the dishwashing area as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness by rolling and unrolling mats, filling and emptying soak tubs with cleaning solutions, and sweeping/mopping floors.
  • Assemble and disassemble the dishwashing machine as part of routine maintenance.
  • Keep the exterior of the restaurant and dumpster area free of litter.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks in the restaurant and restrooms as directed.
  • Ensure kitchen floors remain dry by promptly addressing spills.
  • Alert management if the dish machine's wash or rinse cycle does not meet safety temperature standards.
  • Present a professional appearance by adhering to the company's grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Exhibit integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Proficient in English communication, both oral and written.
  • Possession of a California food handler's card is required.
  • Basic mathematical, reading, writing, and computer skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to promote food and beverage items effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
