Point of Sale Associate

As a Point of Sale Associate at Far West Restaurant Group, you will play a crucial role in providing prompt, courteous, and exceptional customer service during the order processing phase, whether via telephone or face-to-face interactions. You will need to be swift and effective in liaising with team members across both the customer-facing and kitchen areas to ensure our patrons are pleased and receive their orders in a timely manner.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with computer systems and cash register (POS) operations is advantageous.
  • Food Safety Certification is mandatory.
  • Proficient cash handling abilities.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, late nights, and/or holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities and core functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting with integrity, honesty, and a strong understanding of the values and mission of Far West Restaurant Group.
  • Welcoming all customers in a friendly and inviting manner, whether on the phone or in person.
  • Processing orders for customers both in-person and over the phone; upselling and maintaining familiarity with menu items and promotional offers.
  • Being well-versed in menu selections, sauce options, and current promotions to assist customers in making informed choices and addressing inquiries.
  • Ensuring that all orders are prepared within the expected timeframes communicated to customers.
  • Verifying the accuracy and presentation of all customer orders prior to delivery to guarantee the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Demonstrating strong cash handling skills to accurately manage cash, credit, and gift card transactions, as well as balancing the register at the end of each shift.
  • Contributing to a clean and organized work environment; maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in the customer area, including restrooms, and restocking items during quieter periods or as instructed.
  • Adhering to safe food handling practices by following all health and safety regulations; promoting a safe workplace.
  • Maintaining a professional and tidy appearance in accordance with the company's uniform standards.
  • Addressing and resolving customer complaints effectively, and escalating issues to the manager on duty when necessary.
  • Leaving customers with a lasting and positive impression of their experience with Far West Restaurant Group.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Quick learning capability.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute oral and written instructions, seeking clarification when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to foster relationships with customers.
  • Prior experience as a cashier or in the restaurant industry is a plus.
  • Hourly position | Compensation Range: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
