Job Description

Position Overview: The role focuses on fulfilling the needs of dining patrons with precision and care. The individual will be responsible for upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards for all kitchen items, including cookware, glassware, tableware, and utensils, utilizing both mechanical and manual cleaning techniques. This position also ensures that kitchen areas, including floors and mats, are kept clean, safe, and sanitary, in accordance with relevant health codes and regulations.

  1. Deliver exceptional customer service and foster a restaurant-style dining experience.
  2. Collaborate closely with the Food Service Director to guarantee guest satisfaction.
  3. Follow HACCP food safety protocols diligently.
  4. Exemplify professional conduct by adhering to organizational principles and values.
  5. Sort and rinse soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils, placing them in racks for machine washing.
  6. Alert the Food Service Director if dish machine wash or rinse cycles do not meet safety temperature standards.
  7. Organize and stack clean dishes, transporting them to serving areas and storage.
  8. Maintain hygiene by washing hands before handling clean dishes after dirty ones.
  9. Rewash any soiled dishes prior to delivery or storage.
  10. Manually wash pots, pans, and trays as necessary.
  11. Set up or dismantle the dishwashing machine following each meal service.
  12. Change dishwater in the machine every two hours when not in use.
  13. Clean the dish room floor after every meal service.
  14. Regularly dispose of kitchen waste in the dumpster.
  15. Consistently refill sanitizer solution in all workstations.
  16. Keep the kitchen area tidy by sweeping up trash.
  17. Promptly clean up spills to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
  18. Monitor and refill ice levels in beverage machines as needed.
  19. Assist the Food Service Director and/or cooks as required.
  20. Perform general kitchen cleaning tasks as directed.
  21. Arrive at work punctually.
  22. May undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a Food Handlers Card/ServSafe certification.
  2. Strong customer/client focus.
  3. Effective communication skills.
  4. Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  5. Time management abilities.
  6. Self-motivated, trustworthy, and dependable.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  8. Detail-oriented approach.

  10. Responsible handling of company equipment and property.
  11. Capability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  12. Endurance for long periods of standing, sitting, and bending.

Work Environment: This position operates within a kitchen setting, utilizing sinks, dishwashers, and various cleaning tools. Employees may encounter hot water, slippery surfaces, and cleaning chemicals. Non-slip footwear is required.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this role require the ability to stand for extended periods, climb, balance, stoop, or kneel. Frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds is necessary.

Position Type: This is a part-time role, with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Workdays and hours will vary based on operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
