We are currently seeking a Technical Account Manager for a vital territory in Texas.

Your role will involve supporting clients in the Refining sector, representing a highly visible area within Quadra's operations in the USA. Quadra collaborates with dynamic partners at the forefront of technology, backed by a robust manufacturing foundation and solid internal resources.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the selected candidate will cultivate relationships within the territory while enhancing the Quadra brand across the United States. We seek individuals with technical sales expertise in the chemical distribution field and a comprehensive understanding of refining processes. Frequent travel within the designated region will be necessary to promote Quadra's offerings, engaging with engineers, operators, local procurement, and other stakeholders. This includes crafting and executing a collaborative strategic business plan grounded in a thorough comprehension of industry trends and client requirements.

Ideally, the candidate will possess professional sales experience to maintain and expand a territory, with a strong emphasis on new business development. Additionally, an ideal candidate will have a technical background in refining engineering, operations, or have previously held a technical support role for a manufacturer/distributor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and nurture key customer relationships, in alignment with Quadra's core values and strategic vision
  • Achieve or surpass annual sales and margin targets, developed in accordance with Quadra's business objectives
  • Leverage internal and external supplier resources, showcasing Quadra's commitment to technical and commercial excellence
  • Promote Quadra's superior product line to prospective clients through regular customer visits, collaborative calls, and participation in industry events
  • Engage in social networking; create and facilitate networking events with potential clients and partners in your assigned territory
  • Assist clients with troubleshooting and optimization opportunities
  • Travel frequently to support clients on-site, meet with potential customers, and participate in industry events
  • Demonstrate strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Manage tight deadlines and address after-hours emergencies
  • Identify key decision-makers and understand their needs
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract specifications
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers/influencers to secure repeat and new sales
  • Adapt to a complex, rapidly evolving environment on a daily basis
  • Conduct cold calls to potential customers
  • Provide daily reporting and scheduling

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development and technical sales within the refining or petrochemical industry
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an operations/managerial/technical support role in a refinery or petrochemical/chemical complex is a significant asset
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or chemical distribution is a strong advantage
  • Competency in dealing with gas processing amines, glycols, molecular sieves, heat transfer fluids, activated carbon, and commodities
  • Proven ability to drive new sales: prospecting, qualifying customer needs and expectations, delivering presentations, addressing concerns, and closing deals
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and KPIs
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with prospective customers to generate new business
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including international (Canada & US) and overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license & passport; proximity to a major airport is essential as travel is integral to this role
  • Proficient computer skills, experience with a CRM (ideally Salesforce), and with the Microsoft Office suite
