Position Summary

The Assistant Site Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily activities of the after-school program for children in grades K-5. This position involves assisting in the design, execution, and management of engaging program components and activities within the Princeton Young Achievers After School program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise groups of children and provide leadership to staff as needed.
  • Assist in the daily opening and closing procedures of the program site.
  • Step in for the Site Supervisor when they are unavailable.
  • Plan and deliver a diverse range of activities for children aged 6-13, including Homework Time, Enrichment Activities, Organized Physical Activities, Free Play, and Snack Time.
  • Create a welcoming and stimulating environment that encourages productive play and learning.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and serve as a positive role model for colleagues and participants.
  • Communicate effectively with the Site Supervisor and Program Director regarding student-related issues.
  • Oversee volunteers in collaboration with the Site Supervisor.
  • Support communication efforts with parents and families.
  • Manage daily snack distribution and ensure proper supplies are available for activities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement health and safety policies consistently for program participants and staff.
  • Participate in promotional activities to enhance the visibility of YMCA programs.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
  • Strong group management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in developing interactive and educational activities.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with children and adults.
  • Ability to manage daily administrative and supervisory tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
Work Schedule

This position typically operates Monday to Friday during after-school hours, with additional availability required on designated early dismissal days.
