Program Site Supervisor

The Greater Somerset County YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Site Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Princeton Young Achievers Program. This is a part-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing a safe and engaging environment for children aged 6-13.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise groups of children and lead staff to ensure a positive and productive experience.
- Plan and implement a varied and challenging program of activities, including homework time, enrichment activities, organized physical activities, free play, and snack time.
- Create and maintain a fun and safe environment for children to work and play.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children and families, providing a warm and welcoming greeting every day.
- Communicate effectively with the Youth Development Team to address any issues or concerns.
- Support parent/family communication and follow-up, working closely with the Director to ensure seamless communication.
- Facilitate planning and participate in service meetings with the Director to ensure alignment and coordination.
- Supervise and manage daily snack, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
- Maintain and track supplies for programs and activities, including equipment, program supplies, administrative supplies, and first aid equipment.
- Maintain the site/room, equipment, and materials in an orderly and safe manner.
- Manage rosters and attendance records, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Implement safety measures and regulations in compliance with NJ Department of Children & Families - Office of Licensing & Community Partners.
- Supervise and document regular safety drills.
- Organize and manage site-based licensing paperwork.
- Ensure implementation of health and safety policies that pertain to program participants and staff at all times.
- Support efforts of promotion and publicity of all YMCA programs.
- Demonstrate leadership and be a positive influence and role model to colleagues and staff.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- At least two years of experience working with children in a school, after-school, or camp setting.
- Experience with children in school, after-school, or camp settings.
- Sound judgment, ability to prioritize, and be self-directed, and work independently.
- Ability to work flexibly with a collaborative team of staff members and volunteers.
- Ability to maintain systems for accurate record-keeping.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification and/or obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socioeconomic status, or disability.
- Positive, 'can-do' attitude, demonstrated by a willingness to pitch in and help wherever needed, as well as an ability to anticipate what is needed.
- Must be committed to the goals and objectives of the Princeton YMCA programs.
- Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with YMCA standards and best practices.
- Bachelor's Degree or above in Elementary Education, Recreation, or comparable experience.
