Job Title: Commercial Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Counsel to join our team at Menlo Ventures Management, L.P. as a key member of our commercial and technology transactions team.

Responsibilities:
  • Craft, negotiate, and close complex commercial transactions with customers and strategic partners across various industries.
  • Collaborate with sales and partnerships teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.
  • Participate in the scaling and building efforts of the Commercial Legal Team, enhancing our team culture and collegiality.
Requirements:
  • JD with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred).
  • 6+ years of related legal experience, preferably in-house, with at least 5 years of experience in developing and negotiating SaaS agreements and/or technology transactions.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity, and exceling at cross-functional teamwork.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a strong ability to support external customers and partners.
  • Intense curiosity about novel technology and science, with a quick learning aptitude.
  • A "doer" attitude, with a willingness to roll up sleeves to support the team and company.
  • Strong integrity and empathy, with a commitment to these values in the work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Deep substantive knowledge of enterprise software services agreements, software licensing and distribution, strategic partnerships, and intellectual property agreements.
  • Experience working closely with sales and partnerships teams to scale growing businesses.
  • A background supporting emerging technologies.
