We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Counsel to join our growing legal team at Chime. As a key partner to the business, you will provide strategic guidance and negotiate, draft, and review a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, strategic partnership agreements, NDAs, marketing agreements, technology vendor contracts, and professional services agreements.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the business to provide strategic guidance and negotiate, draft, and review commercial agreements.
- Proactively work to streamline and improve current processes and procedures, such as creating templates and developing legal trainings and playbooks.
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally and within the legal team, including with subject matter experts in intellectual property, security, and privacy.
- Escalate issues, as appropriate, to other legal team members and collaboratively share potential risks and proposals with the executive team.
- A J.D. and active membership in at least one state bar.
- 2-5 years of combined law firm, government, and/or in-house experience.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Practical business judgment and problem-solving skills to quickly understand the business' needs, provide strategic guidance, and craft creative solutions.
- A willingness to dig deep into the subject matter of an agreement.
- A track record of success in handling complex business and legal issues.
- The ability to work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Familiarity with fintech, technology, banking, or financial services companies (a plus, but not a requirement).
