Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Coordinator to join our team at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Check-in/Check-out Process: Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming patients and families, greeting them in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Insurance Verification and Billing: Ensure the financial integrity of patient services by verifying insurance coverage and collecting copays/deductibles in a correct and timely manner.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including answering phones, receiving and delivering messages, triaging calls, and scanning documents.
  • Reception and Waiting Area Maintenance: Maintain the reception and waiting areas for assigned ambulatory clinics, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for patients and families.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Ensure the confidentiality of all patients, applications, records, and information received, adhering to all policies, procedures, and practices.
Requirements
  • Education: A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Terminology and Coding: Knowledge of medical terminology, coding procedures, CPT, and ICD-10 is preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems: Experience with EMR systems, such as Centricity Business (CBiz), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Phreesia, Referral Management System (RMS), Cerner, and AVAYA phone systems, is preferred.
  • Customer Service in Healthcare: Previous experience interacting with patients and families in a healthcare setting is preferred.

This is a full-time position working in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
