Job Overview:

The In-Patient Pharmacist is responsible for the preparation and distribution of medications to hospitalized patients. This role involves evaluating the validity of medication orders issued by physicians and ensuring the provision of precise and relevant pharmaceutical information to healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and dispense medications according to established protocols.
2. Assess the appropriateness of medication orders from physicians.
3. Provide accurate drug information to healthcare professionals.
4. Coordinate and execute tasks as outlined in compounding and dispensing procedures.
5. Deliver care to patients across various age groups, addressing their specific needs.

Essential Qualifications:

Skills:
1. Strong oral and written communication abilities.
2. Comprehensive understanding of inpatient pharmacy operations.

Experience:
A. Work Experience:
No prior experience necessary.

B. License/Registration/Certification:
Must possess a current Pharmacy license in Texas or be eligible for licensure within six months for recent graduates.

C. Education and Training:
Must have graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy and complete 12 hours of ACPE-approved continuing education annually.
