Geotechnical Engineering Manager

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is on the lookout for a skilled Geotechnical Engineering Manager to enhance our Power and Renewables divisions. The ideal candidate will be integrated into a vibrant geotechnical engineering group and will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing geotechnical assessments and designs pertinent to renewable energy initiatives, substations, transmission lines, and other energy-related undertakings. Responsibilities may encompass a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, estimating project costs, managing teams, mentoring junior staff, coordinating field and laboratory evaluations, conducting geotechnical analysis and design, preparing comprehensive reports, and monitoring construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop proposals and cost assessments for geotechnical evaluations and associated design tasks.
  • Engage in geotechnical site assessments, delegate laboratory tests, analyze both field and laboratory data, and compile investigation reports.
  • Interpret and evaluate geotechnical information to determine material types, classifications, and engineering properties.
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses, including but not limited to seepage, slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, rotational stiffness, and liquefaction assessments.
  • Oversee, guide, mentor, and train other geotechnical personnel.
