Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Career Progression Manager to join its Office of Human Resources. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of organizational development, human resources principles, and career development strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement career development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies
  • Provide leadership and direction to the development and implementation of the VADOC's Master Corrections Officer program
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training programs
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to inform career development strategies
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support career advancement
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, career development, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and policies
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze data and develop strategic plans
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, HRCI)
  • Experience in career development, training, and organizational development
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
