Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team at Methodist Healthcare. This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for driving business growth and expansion through strategic planning, practice analysis, and network development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement department goals and objectives, establishing policies and procedures for department operations.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of the operating budget, ensuring the department operates within budget.
  • Direct the preparation and maintenance of department reports, preparing periodic reports for top management as required.
  • Develop and plan programs and strategies for corporate growth and structure.
  • Coordinate and communicate the corporate regulatory/legal framework, ensuring all acquisitions and divestitures meet standards.
  • Identify and evaluate trends in healthcare, local conditions, economic conditions, and competitive institutions, developing strategies to respond to these trends.
  • Review legislation affecting physician services partnership development, competition, and planning.
  • Work with executive, medical, and hospital staff to explain and obtain commitment to strategic goals.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay current with the latest trends in the field.
  • Participate in Group/Divisional, hospital/medical staff meetings as required, attending and serving on professional/civic service organizations as a representative of the company.
  • Initiate specific plans and programs for new business development in each division's marketing area, negotiating contract terms and business relationships for approval.
  • Function as an intermediary/representative in negotiating issues for Physician Services and/or the Hospital/Division.
  • Monitor compliance to guidelines and affiliation agreements related to physician practice/hospital partnerships.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree required.
  • Five years of progressively responsible healthcare management experience in senior-level management, with emphasis on physician relations in practice operations, hospital operations, merger and acquisition, and divestiture, as well as experience with MSOs/PHOs/IPAs, physician practice management, or managed care organizations.
