THE ROLE:

The Life's Better Department at Lakeshirts (Human Resources) is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to support our strategic business goals through effective recruitment of team members across various departments and locations. The successful candidate will be dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our customers by carefully selecting the right individuals for each role at Lakeshirts. This position is vital in ensuring we attract and hire top-tier talent.


This role is based onsite in Detroit Lakes, MN, with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage all stages of our values-driven recruitment process for assigned roles.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop comprehensive and precise job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Partner with recruitment and marketing teams to devise effective recruitment strategies.
  • Post job openings on relevant platforms and oversee the recruitment process until positions are filled.
  • Maintain accurate applicant and interview records in our recruitment software.
  • Screen applicants to identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct reference and background checks for prospective hires.
  • Coordinate interviews, ensuring preparation of values-based interview questions and necessary materials.
  • Assist in the interview process by scheduling and participating in interviews with leadership.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR staff during the offer process, advising on salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other essential details.
  • Prepare and communicate job offers.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Participate in job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at fostering future talent through community partnerships.
  • Network within the community to continuously build a pool of qualified candidates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must have a passion for people and a creative approach to problem-solving.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Sales/Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing all aspects of the recruitment and hiring process is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative in handling daily tasks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in developing and executing sourcing strategies for diverse roles.
  • Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative.
  • Outstanding time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with hiring laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficient in applicant-tracking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all HR-related matters.
