Position Overview

Koch Industries is on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Automation Engineering Project Specialist to enhance our manufacturing automation division. This role is crucial in driving the design and development of innovative equipment tailored for our New Product Development initiatives within the Datacom Specialty Solutions sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and engineering of automation solutions for manufacturing processes, focusing on creating efficient systems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure seamless integration of components into larger systems.
  • Engage in comprehensive project support, including product validation, creation of 3D models, and updates to technical documentation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing partners and integration specialists, to achieve project goals.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the complete manufacturing workflow and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing custom automation solutions or robotics.
  • Practical experience with servo motors and drive systems, encompassing selection, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical skills to apply logical reasoning and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience managing design projects from inception to completion.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and procurement systems.
  • Ability to interact with external vendors and stakeholders.
  • Customer-facing experience in a technical capacity.
  • Knowledge in designing pick and place systems, multi-axis equipment, and automated welding or cutting technologies.
