Job Overview

The Automation Control Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the Stamping, Assembly, and Welding Zones by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all integrated machinery. This position also involves assisting in the development and installation of new integrated programs, as well as implementing a robust preventive and predictive maintenance strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a Safe Work Environment: Maintain and encourage safety protocols throughout the workplace.

  • Operator Support: Ensure operators fully understand automated processes related to their roles, mentoring Production Associates to enhance their skills.
  • Time Management: Ensure accurate and timely completion of time sheets.
  • Housekeeping: Participate in daily housekeeping efforts across all plant areas.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for robots and PLC integrated equipment.
  • Skills Development: Assist in upgrading the skills of Millwrights and Electricians in robotics and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration with Suppliers: Coordinate with external suppliers for maintenance and troubleshooting of automated processes.
  • Resource Optimization: Utilize best practices in planning assignments to maximize efficiency in resource, time, and material usage.
Qualifications
  • Education: Post-secondary education in engineering is preferred, along with a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Formal education in Robotics and PLC is essential, as is a certificate from a formal apprenticeship program.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment, specifically in a similar role, with knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of Robots and PLC systems.
Interpersonal Relationships
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing teams.
  • Engage in discussions regarding safety issues with Associates.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
