Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Architect for a senior or principal-level position, focusing on Information Technology (IT) initiatives within the Nuclear Deterrence Modernization Programs. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of security plan accreditations, IT systems procurement and configurations, computer networking, and VTC systems management. This role requires leadership and strategic guidance for a team of IT professionals, along with the ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:
  • Design and execute IT solutions, including system configurations, upgrades, and hardware/software setups.
  • Oversee IT security plans, including COMSEC activities and Archer Plans development.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for intricate IT challenges, encompassing hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage IT procurement processes to ensure the acquisition of essential hardware and software.
  • Ensure adherence to security standards and participate in ISD and security meetings.
  • Provide strategic oversight and support for IT infrastructure projects, including property accountability and classified reapplication processes.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $109,300 - $217,400. Actual compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, along with any applicable geographic salary differentials.

Required Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Information Technology (IT) or a relevant STEM discipline, plus one (1) year of directly related experience; OR Bachelor's degree in the stated field, plus five (5) years of directly related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems utilized on enterprise-approved computing devices.
  • Understanding of systems accreditations for secure and robust information systems.
  • Experience supporting OS environments on National Instruments PXI chassis and controllers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DOE Q clearance or DoD Top Security clearance.
  • Experience with SRN/SCN Operational Technologies Zone (OTZ) applications and implementations.
  • Experience with classified systems accreditation as an Information Systems Security Official (ISSO).
  • Cyber Security Representative (CSR) certification is advantageous.
  • Experience interconnecting diverse systems via Authorizations to Connect (ATC) approvals across accreditation boundaries.
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are preferred.
  • Willingness to engage in new program development IT projects as requested.
  • Extensive experience with Sandia's IT infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated program/project management skills applied to IT initiatives.
