Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Systems Architect to enhance our team in support of advanced engineering initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and definition of complex systems, including conducting risk assessments, managing interfaces, technical planning, and verifying requirements. You will integrate model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with systems-of-systems engineering to create comprehensive MBSE models that facilitate integration. Your expertise in systems and subsystem integration and testing will be crucial as you collaborate with program management to ensure the integrity of the entire program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining model-based systems for diverse applications
  • Enhancing Systems Engineering processes tailored to various stages of system development
  • Communicating effectively across all organizational levels to identify process requirements and support fellow engineers as a model-based systems expert
  • Collaborating with other Systems Engineers to establish comprehensive life-cycle systems engineering processes, including documentation, workflow automation, efficiency measurement, and traceability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with 15 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 13 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience with satellite ground systems
  • Demonstrated ability in defining and executing MBSE projects
  • Familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar
  • Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS or DOORs Next Gen
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering and integration principles
  • Ability to lead systems engineering efforts that define and evolve system baselines
  • Experience in testing and evaluation processes
  • Knowledge of network protocols and hardware troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture and infrastructure, particularly AWS or Azure
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as C and C++
  • Experience with Java programming
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively; proficiency in project scheduling using Microsoft Project is preferred

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to integrate MBSE models with other technical baseline data, including CAD and simulation models
  • Experience collaborating with senior client personnel and decision-makers
  • Background in migrating systems to cloud environments
  • INCOSE Certification
  • MBSE Certification
  • SysML Certification

Security Requirements:

  • Must possess a fully adjudicated DoD Top Secret clearance or DOE Q clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
  • Must be a US Citizen
