Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a vital member of the Engagement and Coordination Team at Renewal Inc, the Certified Recovery Specialist will offer essential support to individuals navigating their journey through substance use disorders. This role encompasses serving as a mentor, advocate, and source of inspiration for those pursuing treatment, while also aiding in the prevention of relapse and fostering sustained recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture peer-to-peer relationships to enhance recovery experiences.
  • Provide transportation assistance for individuals seeking treatment services, ensuring they reach their providers safely.
  • Support individuals throughout the treatment enrollment process, offering guidance and encouragement.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and demonstrate a high standard of ethics in all interactions.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of Substance Use Disorders and mental health.
  • Personal experience in recovery from a substance use disorder, providing valuable insights.
  • The ability to motivate and educate others about substance use disorders and the importance of community support in the recovery process.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the capacity to maintain authentic peer relationships while respecting boundaries.
  • Strong problem-solving and planning abilities, along with proficiency in technology.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Certification as a Recovery Specialist or completion of 54 hours of AOD education while pursuing CRS Certification is required. Additionally, candidates must possess Act 33/34 clearances and a valid Driver's License.
