Position Summary

The role involves formulating regulatory strategies, championing the Company's business interests, and acting as the primary liaison with the leadership and staff of the California Public Utilities Commission. The position provides regulatory guidance and support to designated business units while developing and maintaining policies and programs that ensure executive leadership is informed and responsive to potential regulatory challenges and policies impacting the Company. The role is crucial in representing the Company's interests in regulatory proceedings and shaping new regulatory policies and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocates for the Company's stance on industry matters, developments, or ongoing proceedings concerning complex and high-stakes issues at the CPUC.
  • Collaborates with leadership in Regulatory Affairs and across the Company to prioritize, formulate, and implement strategies and policies for intricate regulatory challenges before and during proceedings.
  • Employs a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape and Company business challenges to influence regulatory policies and lead the development of regulatory strategies in significant proceedings.
  • Keeps the executive leadership team informed about regulatory developments, including meeting outcomes, proposed regulations, and timelines for key regulatory decisions.
  • Facilitates issue resolution by partnering with relevant leaders and stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains effective communication and working relationships with internal contacts, CPUC personnel, and other external stakeholders, including industry representatives, consumer organizations, utilities, and environmental groups.
  • May supervise one or two direct reports.
  • Guides and motivates staff to enhance performance and achieve results through effective recruitment, training, performance management, and recognition.

Compensation

PG&E provides a salary range that reflects the company's good faith belief regarding compensation for this position. The actual salary will be determined based on various factors, including skills, education, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The estimated salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $174,000

Bay Area Maximum: $296,000

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
