Job Summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality food, while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, while maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen environment.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracking product production, consumption, and waste, and informing the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, demonstrating a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explaining them to associates and customers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of kitchen lead or sous chef experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
