Position Overview

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist. We are dedicated to transforming the field of radiology, making it an essential component in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Join us in our mission to enhance patient care.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role requiring 2 days of work per week on a mobile unit, with travel expected to various locations within approximately 1 hour.

Key Responsibilities:

(90%) Patient Imaging Duties

  • Conducts patient screenings prior to examinations, ensuring all precautions and contraindications are addressed using two patient identifiers for accuracy.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, preparing them for PET/CT imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately.
  • Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging on specified body areas, aiding physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions while minimizing the need for repeat scans.
  • Adjusts imaging parameters as necessary, employing dose reduction techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintains a positive rapport with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
  • Adheres strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to safeguard the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Accurately documents patient information within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keeps the work environment organized and clean, promoting safety for all.
  • Ensures compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains imaging equipment in optimal condition, performing cleaning and disinfection after each use.
  • Complies with all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Evaluates, prepares, records, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission and departmental policies.
  • Administers fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients as required.
  • Exhibits knowledge of safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment, integral to high-quality patient care.
  • Reports any contamination incidents to the Radiation Safety Officer.

(5%) Departmental Support

  • Assists in maintaining and updating the imaging protocol manual and software systems.
  • Monitors inventory of medical supplies and places orders as needed.
  • Participates in the training of new staff, offering guidance and technical support.
  • Conducts and documents routine quality control checks on PET/CT equipment to meet ACR and AOA standards.
  • Performs regular departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.

(5%) Additional Responsibilities

Completes other assigned tasks as necessary.
