Job Summary and Qualifications

As an EP Technologist in our Electrophysiology Lab, you will assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time to supply care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other healthcare members. Your care will change the lives of our patients.

What you will do in this role:

The EP Lab Tech assists in all procedures performed in the Electrophysiology Lab area. The EP Technologist requires detailed knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, disease processes and principles of cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional technology in a safe patient care.

The EP Technologist demonstrates an expert knowledge of radiological equipment and safety, shielding techniques, expert imaging skills and X-ray equipment trouble-shooting skills, analyzing, 3D mapping and recording equipment and other equipment utilized in the Electrophysiology Lab, and performs unit-based activities, which contribute to a positive and professional work environment.

The EP Technologist demonstrates the ability to function in all of the positions with the exception of nursing. Essential information is shared through documentation and verbal communication.

What qualifications you may need:

· High School Diploma/GED required

· Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular technology 

· A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required

· A current American Heart Association ACLS certification or American Red Cross ALS certification is required

· Current ARRT or RCIS credentials required, if not RCIS, RCES, then must be eligible to take the credentialing examination and obtain RCIS or RCES within 12 months of hire

· One year of Cath Lab experience, performing both diagnostic and interventional procedures required
