Position Overview

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist. We are redefining the standards in radiology, emphasizing its essential role in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Become a part of our mission to enhance patient care.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role requiring 2 days of work per week on a mobile unit, with travel expected to various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

(90%) Patient Imaging:

  • Conduct thorough patient screenings prior to imaging to identify any precautions or contraindications, utilizing two patient identifiers for accuracy.
  • Provide clear explanations and preparations for PET/CT imaging procedures, ensuring patients are comfortably positioned for optimal imaging.
  • Execute both routine and advanced PET/CT imaging techniques on specified body areas, aiding physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions while minimizing the need for repeat scans.
  • Adjust imaging parameters as necessary, employing dose reduction strategies when appropriate.
  • Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues to ensure collaborative patient care.
  • Adhere strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to safeguard yourself, patients, and fellow staff members.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Uphold ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Keep imaging equipment in optimal condition, performing cleaning and disinfection after each use.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Assess, prepare, document, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission and state regulations.
  • Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
  • Exhibit knowledge of safety practices to maintain a secure work environment and enhance the quality of patient care.
  • Report any contamination incidents to the Radiation Safety Officer.

(5%) Departmental Support:

  • Assist in maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and implement software upgrades as needed.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and request replenishments as necessary.
  • Support the training of new staff, providing guidance and technical expertise.
  • Conduct and document quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA standards.
  • Perform regular departmental surveys to verify adherence to radiation safety standards as mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and state regulations.

(5%) Additional Duties:

Complete other assigned tasks as required.
