Position Overview

RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist. We are redefining the field of radiology, making it an essential first step in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Join us in our mission to enhance patient care.

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role requiring 2 days of work per week on a mobile unit, with travel to various locations within approximately 1 hour.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Imaging:

  • Conduct patient screenings prior to examinations, ensuring safety and accuracy through the use of two patient identifiers.
  • Provide clear explanations and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, ensuring proper positioning for optimal imaging.
  • Execute routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision, while maintaining patient comfort and communication throughout the process.
  • Adjust scan parameters as necessary, employing dose reduction techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
  • Adhere strictly to physician orders and safety regulations to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep the work area organized and clean, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal condition, performing cleaning and disinfection after each use.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Assess, prepare, document, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
  • Exhibit knowledge of safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment, integral to quality patient care.
  • Report any contamination incidents to the Radiation Safety Officer.

(5%) Departmental Support:

  • Assist in maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and facilitate software upgrades.
  • Monitor and manage medical supply inventory, requesting replenishments as needed.
  • Support the training of new staff by providing resources and technical guidance.
  • Conduct and document routine quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA standards.
  • Perform departmental surveys to ensure adherence to radiation safety standards.

(5%) Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complete other assigned tasks as required.
