Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine manufacturing protocols, tooling designs, process documentation, and fabrication specifications to ensure adequate capacity for fulfilling client requirements while enhancing product quality, operational efficiency, and worker safety.
  • Focus on optimizing work processes by eliminating non-value-added activities through comprehensive documentation, necessary information, tools, components, logistics, and procedures.
  • Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to assess and uphold all manufacturing workflows.
  • Provide support to production lines, which includes implementing enhancements, troubleshooting machinery, and addressing operator questions.
  • Create and update manufacturing process documentation, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Employ LEAN, Six Sigma, and other best practice methodologies for effective problem-solving and ongoing improvement.
  • Assist in determining equipment requirements on the production floor, including sourcing, installation, ROI measurement, and data tracking.
  • Conduct cost assessments for assigned engineering projects aimed at minimizing manufacturing expenses without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to educate operators on product manufacturing, material handling, new equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, while also aiding in the resolution of production challenges.
  • Verify the accuracy of all production order documentation, including bills of materials and routings within the ERP system.
  • Work closely with design engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure successful launches of new products.
  • Engage with various departmental resources (such as sales, customer service, purchasing, and quality) during design reviews and other meetings to facilitate product launches and ongoing engineering support.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to provide feedback on the effectiveness of initial production runs.
  • Aim to meet or surpass labor content and product cost benchmarks by utilizing effective assembly techniques and ergonomic practices.
  • Support, estimate costs, and document all engineering modifications.
  • Initiate preventative measures to avoid any nonconformance related to products, processes, or systems.
  • Promote and maintain error-proofing techniques along with enhancements to facilities and production cells.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 4+ years in manufacturing, with a preference for heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • Experience with process and equipment validation.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is preferred.
