Job Overview:

This role functions as the primary point of contact for local project management, focusing on the electrical systems integrated into vehicles produced in the designated facility.

The specialist will oversee all aspects of product development in collaboration with local stakeholders (Production, Purchasing, Quality, Suppliers) as well as counterparts in international locations.

Key responsibilities include monitoring development progress with lead engineers and taking charge of identifying and suggesting modifications as needed during the launch phase or routine maintenance and updates of the vehicle models.

A comprehensive background in various sectors of electrical development is essential to effectively guide and support other team members.


Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Project Management – (30%)
  • Ensures alignment of vehicle projects with all stakeholders throughout each development stage and into production.
  • Tracks and coordinates project timelines, releases, and engineering modifications.
  • Proactively identifies and prepares for new opportunities.
  • Facilitates discussions regarding job responsibilities with development partners.
  • Maintains ongoing communication regarding project status.
  • Guides and mentors the Projects team, providing support to less-experienced colleagues.
Supplier and Manufacturing Assistance – (30%)
  • Coordinates local project lead functions to ensure seamless execution of model changes and vehicle launches.
  • Provides support to developers and suppliers concerning all electrical control module issues for vehicles assembled at the facility.
  • Collaborates with the Analysis team to ensure thorough evaluation of manufacturing concerns, recommending resolutions in partnership with suppliers and component owners globally.
  • Reviews field issues to identify root causes and defines countermeasures in collaboration with suppliers and component owners when product modifications are necessary.
  • Works with internal partners to ensure compliance with requirements during supplier selection processes.
Electrical Development and Benchmarking – (30%)
  • Collaborates with counterparts in Germany to introduce new electrical components or features for model enhancement and product improvements.
  • Ensures the creation of change requests for components as required for model updates and ongoing maintenance.
  • Partners with the Analysis team to confirm that all necessary testing is identified and conducted to guarantee the proper release of electrical systems into the market.
  • Identifies local suppliers for electronic components and collaborates with Purchasing, Quality, and international partners to facilitate local part releases.
  • Establishes quality standards for new and existing suppliers.
  • Monitors market trends and makes product recommendations for the region.
  • Ensures the development of electrical components tailored for the market by creating specifications, collaborating with Purchasing to identify potential suppliers, and ensuring the final product meets specifications and market demands.
  • Leads optimization efforts for all electrical components by working closely with various organizational areas to identify, assess, and implement potential improvements.
Mentorship and Coaching – (10%)
  • Offers guidance, feedback, and support to team members with less experience.
  • Ensures that specialized knowledge and team processes are thoroughly documented.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in automotive electronic system testing.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent required; Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities; exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail; effective communication skills; proficient in software applications; ability to integrate people, processes, or systems; strong influencing and negotiation skills; adept in resource management; proficiency in German is advantageous.
Specialized Skills - Required:
Experience with automotive control modules; knowledge of vehicle communication networks; expertise in automotive control module root cause analysis; familiarity with Volkswagen electronics control modules; understanding of automotive control module suppliers, particularly in the market; experience collaborating with electrical developers in a German company; experience managing teams in a dynamic development and manufacturing environment.
