The Chemical Production Specialist is accountable to the Plant Manager or Production Supervisor, depending on the assigned shift. This role demands a meticulous, self-motivated individual who:
- Integrates safety and quality into every decision while executing daily responsibilities.
- Efficiently operates and maintains chemical processes and machinery to fulfill manufacturing standards and optimize productivity without compromising safety or quality.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for process enhancements and collaborates with management and colleagues to implement approved modifications promptly.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a positive attitude, be task-oriented, and have experience in chemical manufacturing, along with a strong mechanical aptitude and advanced computer skills. This individual must be driven to work collaboratively with team members at all levels, execute job duties with urgency, and support plant and business objectives while consistently striving to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate chemical processes and equipment to safely produce high-quality products.
- Adhere to all plant safety regulations, operational guidelines, and procedures.
- Recommend and actively participate in the implementation of improvements and adjustments to processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Maintain and update daily quality control data and process samples.
- Utilize computer systems for quality control, inventory management, transportation documentation, and other processing tasks.
- Provide physical support as necessary.
- Adapt to changing shifts as required.
- Ensure cleanliness and operational readiness of all process areas, laboratories, and equipment.
- Manage the unloading of railcars, loading of tanker trucks, and preparation for shipments.
- Operate heavy machinery as needed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment according to established procedures and inventory requirements.
- Offer production support across all departments as necessary.
- Develop and implement enhancements in processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma.
- Significant mechanical experience and aptitude.
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
- Basic college coursework in subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, and statistics.
- The ideal candidate possesses a proactive attitude, the ability to work as part of a team while also functioning independently, and consistently meets high performance standards.
