Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on implementing Lean methodologies within the high-volume production of electrical cabinets. This role is essential for enhancing operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct time studies and perform multi-cycle analyses to optimize production layouts and work cell configurations in alignment with takt time.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and job aids to document best practices and uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to resolve issues and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects and events.
  • Identify automation opportunities to enhance safety, quality, and productivity, and develop justifications for implementation.
  • Implement and sustain 5S practices and visual management across the production area.
  • Participate in daily accountability meetings with production leadership to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Lead problem-solving teams, employing methodologies such as 5-Whys, 8D, and Ishikawa diagrams to conduct thorough root cause analyses.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and create Pareto charts, focusing improvement efforts on high-impact opportunities.
  • Develop and implement material handling strategies to ensure material availability while minimizing inventory levels.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to promote Lean thinking within the team, aiding others in understanding and applying key concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for operational needs.
Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related engineering discipline is highly preferred.
  • An associate degree in a technical field with relevant experience may be considered.
Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing Lean concepts in high-volume production settings.
Additional Skills:
  • Experience with PFMEAs and control plans is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 certified operations is preferred.
  • Proficient in using computers and communication tools effectively.
