ROLE SUMMARY
Under general guidance, manage projects that necessitate the development and assessment of original designs. Engage in the analysis and validation of design and theoretical concepts, utilizing a diverse array of established research methodologies.

WORK LOCATION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop precise project specifications. Ensure all engineering documentation is current. Create standard work templates and manage revision control processes. Support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of technical products and systems. Foster continuous improvement by overseeing projects and suggesting methods to enhance equipment/system/process reliability. KEY FUNCTIONS Initiate and manage the Product Design and Development (PDD) process to guarantee that product definitions and specifications are fulfilled by all stakeholders. Actively participate in product design discussions, including product specifications, material selection, 3D CAD modeling, and detailed 2D drawings. Collaborate as part of cross-functional project teams from concept through testing to production. Conduct assessments for design manufacturability, ensuring that final designs align with lean manufacturing principles, production volume, cost, and performance criteria. Generate design concepts that meet cost targets and liaise with vendors and suppliers to identify and approve components. Maintain design history and adhere to proper engineering document control processes to ensure drawings are up to date. Strive to identify commonalities in design to facilitate manufacturing standardization. Exhibit technical and written skills by generating and archiving reports of design analyses for future reference, and demonstrate interpersonal skills through the preparation and presentation of findings. Provide prompt responses to Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action requests related to design issues and/or warranty concerns to support engineering solutions applied in the field. Assist colleagues with workloads as necessary to meet project completion expectations or production deadlines. Promote a safe and healthy work environment. Comply with established company policies and procedures, with particular attention to safety regulations. Utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines. Maintain cleanliness in designated work areas by applying 6S principles to minimize safety risks. QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience is required. Experience in roles such as Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or Production Engineer is preferred. Familiarity with Oracle ERP systems is highly desirable. Experience with welding and/or heavy machinery is advantageous. Ability to maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with diverse personalities, including customers, vendors, colleagues, and management, while working both independently and as part of a team. Capability to manage more complex and advanced engineering projects while balancing project management responsibilities. Proven ability to influence, lead teams, and drive change. Skill in working efficiently and accurately to meet engineering, sales, and production demands. Flexibility and adaptability in prioritizing workloads, managing pressure, meeting deadlines, and navigating rapidly changing situations. Demonstrated success in creating and maintaining engineering design standards and drawing standards. Ability to attract and retain engineering talent. Customer-focused, with the ability to communicate engineering concepts and designs to non-technical audiences. Extensive experience working in cross-functional teams, including both technical and non-technical roles. Proficiency in a combination of software packages, including MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dynamics AX) and AutoDesk Design Suite (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, Nastran In-CAD, 3DS Max, and AutoCAD Electrical). Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A creative thinker with a results-oriented, analytical mindset and a focused approach to problem-solving.
