Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Precision NDT LLC, you will be crucial in upholding the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental stewardship within our operations. Your role will involve the creation, execution, and maintenance of safety initiatives, policies, and protocols aimed at minimizing risks and fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Development of Safety Programs:

Work collaboratively with diverse teams to design and implement thorough safety programs, policies, and procedures that address the unique challenges of the industry.

Regularly review and update safety protocols to ensure they meet evolving regulatory standards, industry best practices, and emerging risks.

Align safety initiatives with corporate objectives, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all organizational levels.

2. Risk Assessment and Management:

Identify potential safety risks and evaluate associated hazards in all operational activities, including drilling, production, and maintenance.

Formulate risk management strategies and control measures to reduce exposure to occupational hazards and environmental risks.

Provide expert guidance on the selection and implementation of engineering controls, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other safety measures.

3. Regulatory Compliance Oversight:

Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, and standards relevant to the sector.

Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with safety standards and identify areas for enhancement.

Engage with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to maintain a proactive stance on safety compliance and advocacy.

4. Training and Development:

Create and deliver comprehensive safety training programs, workshops, and seminars for employees and contractors.

Encourage a culture of continuous learning by providing resources and opportunities for skill enhancement in safety-related areas.

Assess the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback and performance metrics to promote ongoing improvement in safety outcomes.

5. Incident Investigation:

Lead investigations into safety incidents and near misses to determine root causes and corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for management review and regulatory reporting.

Facilitate sessions to share lessons learned and disseminate findings to enhance organizational learning.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in safety management and regulatory compliance within the industry.

Proven expertise in interpreting and applying safety regulations and standards.

A successful history of developing and implementing effective safety programs in complex environments.

Strong analytical skills to assess and mitigate a variety of occupational hazards.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities to engage stakeholders effectively.

Familiarity with industry-specific technologies and processes used in operations.

Willingness to travel as required for field assessments.
