Position Overview:

This role is classified as uncovered; the individual in this position serves at the discretion of the Director of the Department of Public Safety. Please note that this recruitment may conclude without prior notice.

Under guidance, the incumbent will engage in activities within a structured setting to oversee and coordinate traffic operations. This includes collaboration with State Troopers, Operational Communications, personnel from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), and other public safety organizations to monitor and manage traffic situations and assist in the resolution of traffic incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Applicants should possess a minimum of three years of law enforcement experience as an Arizona POST-certified peace officer or as a police communications dispatcher. A valid Arizona driver's license is required and must be maintained.

Pre-Employment Criteria:

Candidates must undergo an examination process. Successful applicants will be subject to a polygraph test and a thorough background investigation. The Department of Public Safety is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace, which includes pre-employment drug testing.

If this position necessitates driving or the use of a vehicle as a fundamental aspect of the job for conducting State business, the following stipulations apply: Driver's License Requirements. All newly appointed State employees must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
