S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking a Lead Analyst to enhance our North America Solar PV division, concentrating on the solar demand and manufacturing sectors across the United States and Canada.

This role is multifaceted, requiring the analyst to engage with various components of the position, including data modeling, database management, analytical writing for reports and media inquiries, nurturing client relationships, and delivering presentations at industry events.

The Team

The Solar PV division operates within the broader Clean Energy Technology research group at S&P Global Commodity Insights, which encompasses a wide array of cleantech markets worldwide.

The environment is highly collaborative, reflecting the globalized nature of supply chains and cross-technology research opportunities. Simultaneously, the culture encourages independence and self-motivation due to the team's remote working structure.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
• Gather, manage, and interpret market data to formulate solar PV demand projections for the United States and Canada.
• Produce high-quality quantitative and qualitative market reports assessing the current status and future outlook of the US solar sector.
• Collaborate with a large, international team of analysts to synchronize perspectives and align data and forecasts.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with senior executives in the solar industry to obtain primary data and insights for research purposes.

• Compose and disseminate regular research notes that evaluate recent policies, news, and developments within the solar sector for both clients and media outlets.

• Address client inquiries by providing prompt and thorough responses regarding research findings. On-site and telephonic presentations are frequently required.

• Partner with our global sales and marketing teams to advocate for our research and assist in client renewals to achieve commercial objectives.

Some occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary.
Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:


• 2-4 years of experience in market analysis; direct experience in the solar or energy storage sectors is preferred, though experience in other power industries such as wind or gas is also acceptable.

• Proficiency in MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with databases is highly desirable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
• Organizational skills, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Relevant University degree (Bachelor's), preferably in fields such as Environmental Science, Engineering, Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Sustainability Studies, Mathematics, etc., though not mandatory.


Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate degree is highly desirable
• Proficiency in Spanish
