In this role, you will be pivotal in formulating and executing strategies and operational plans that guarantee our facility and production machinery operate safely, comply with regulations, and achieve optimal efficiency while leveraging technological advancements. As a vital member of the Plant Leadership Team (PLT), you will work closely with the plant team to enhance operations.
As the Senior Supervisor of Plant Engineering, your contributions will include:
Overseeing daily operations and coordination of Plant Engineering and Maintenance resources to meet the needs of our business partners. Leading the Plant Engineering department by crafting and executing strategic and operational plans, including staffing, budget management, workload forecasting, and succession planning. Enhancing the technical skills of the PE team while providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your direct reports. Representing the Plant Engineering/Facilities Management organization on the site PLT to ensure all facility-related services are delivered effectively. Identifying and promoting initiatives to implement safety protocols, improve equipment reliability, and enhance productivity within the Plant Engineering department. Advocating for Maintenance Conscious Engineering (MCE) considerations during project discussions, and actively supporting the Management of Change (MOC) process for safe and effective implementation of modifications. Reporting project or program progress and outcomes to relevant stakeholders. Required Qualifications:
To ensure your success in this role from the outset, 3M requires the following qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
A secondary degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution (must be completed and verified prior to starting). Experience working in a unionized environment. Prior experience in a leadership role within Manufacturing or Plant Engineering. Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (such as Lean manufacturing principles, Root Cause Problem Solving, TPM, etc.). Proven ability to achieve objectives related to EHS, Quality, Service, and/or Cost. Basic knowledge of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance, NFPA, and OSHA standards. Relevant certifications such as Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Certified Maintenance Manager, or Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional. Strong capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide leadership within a diverse organization.Work Location:
