Job Summary

Havertys is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Office Assistant. As a key member of our retail team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and supporting the smooth operation of our stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Process customer sales and payments accurately, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
  • Office Administration
    • Balance cash funds, complete opening and closing procedures, and prepare reconciliations as required.
    • Maintain an organized and secure office environment, ensuring all necessary documents and records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Answer incoming calls, distribute messages, and manage store voicemail, ensuring all customer inquiries are addressed promptly.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving and Initiative
    • Identify and resolve customer complaints, escalating issues to management as necessary.
    • Take initiative to improve processes and procedures, suggesting innovative solutions to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent, with one to three years of experience in customer service, sales, or a related field.
    • One to three years of cash handling experience is highly preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
    • Basic computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
