Position Title: Educational Support Assistant (Part-Time)

Reports to: ESS Teacher and Principal

Position Type: Hourly, 10 Month

About Us:

Benjamin Franklin Charter School is seeking dedicated Educational Support Assistants to enhance our Elementary Team and assist in our ESS Resource Classrooms.

Training:
On-the-job training will be provided for all candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the vision, mission, and objectives of BFCS.
  • Adhere to BFCS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe and structured environment that prioritizes academic excellence.
  • Assist individual students or small groups in reinforcing skills introduced by the teacher.
  • Implement behavioral plans under the guidance of the supervising certified teacher to help students modify behaviors.
  • Facilitate educational demonstrations for classes or small groups.
  • Assist with assessments, grading, and record-keeping under the supervision of the certified teacher.
  • Supervise students during various activities including specials, emergency drills, assemblies, recess, lunch, and field trips.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Be adaptable and perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising teacher.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills beneficial to classroom assistance.
  • Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the school site or District.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check upon hire.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting up to approximately 25 pounds. Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and must be able to stand for extended periods.
