Position Purpose: The role of the Educational Psychologist involves assessing and interpreting the cognitive, adaptive, academic, social, and emotional development of students. This includes analyzing psychological assessments, applying relevant state and federal regulations, and creating strategies to meet the special educational needs of students.
Classification: Foundations
Overtime Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $82,000 - $86,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with parents, educators, administrators, and relevant agencies to design educational and therapeutic programs.
- Recommend suitable educational and psychological interventions based on assessment results.
- Analyze and interpret assessment outcomes concerning students' intellectual, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Prepare comprehensive written reports for each student evaluated.
- Engage in IEP teams and participate in IEP reviews.
- Conduct necessary re-evaluations for Special Education students.
- Contribute to the development of school services that promote positive mental health and effective learning environments.
- Initiate referrals to Mental Health Services as needed.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs.
- Serve as a resource in areas such as guidance, curriculum, child development, and assessment methodologies.
- Collaborate in planning the master schedule for the special education program.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Master's Degree.
- Arizona Credential authorizing the provision of psychological services.
- Administrative Services Credential (Preferred).
- ADE School Psychologist Certification.
- Graduate degree from a NASP-Approved institution.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Card.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
- Frequent activities include reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to see and hear within normal ranges, with or without correction.
- Noise levels may vary from moderate to high.
