Job Overview

Position Title: Plant Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations
Location: Stratford, CT


The Plant Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all manufacturing operations, including functional and distribution center responsibilities. This position is essential for driving ongoing enhancements to achieve results aligned with NSI Industries' strategic objectives. The individual will ensure the efficient, effective, and safe functioning of production and manufacturing support areas while fostering a culture of continuous improvement across various performance metrics such as safety, product quality, cost efficiency, production timelines, and employee satisfaction.

  • Achieve excellence in safety, quality, production efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Establish and uphold initiatives that guarantee a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Formulate and implement manufacturing strategies that align with business goals.
  • Develop and mentor key manufacturing staff.
  • Oversee and manage plant expenditures related to labor, materials, and operational costs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute a manufacturing plan to meet business objectives.
  • Prioritize safety as the foremost concern for all employees.
  • Focus plant resources on quality, production efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to functional managers and supervisors through a hands-on approach.
  • Recruit and manage staff to secure necessary resources for fulfilling business commitments.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role at the plant level.
  • Demonstrated success in a plant manager capacity.
  • Proven track record in developing key manufacturing roles.
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to varying work schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Strong leadership qualities.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with labor unions.
  • Hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
  • Background in Electrical Distribution.
  • Experience in metal manufacturing or diecasting.
  • Familiarity with automated assembly facilities.
  • Experience in warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of global supply chain processes.
