Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is a key member of the Clarity Software Solutions Inc. team, responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate operation of Die-Cutting, Labeling, Tip-On, and/or Inserting equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of complex product configurations and various equipment to deliver high-quality products. The Production Supervisor works closely with the Production Manager to set up and execute daily tasks in the Production Department, providing leadership to the team by distributing workloads and ensuring production goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the training of new and current Production Associates.
  • Train associates on how to read job tickets and clarify instructions.
  • Review monthly performance goals with up to six employees.
  • Participate in ongoing strategic planning.
  • Evaluate workloads and delegate tasks based on staff and machinery availability.
  • Work with Technicians to troubleshoot and improve machine performance.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met daily using Open Cards and Open OnDemand tools.
  • Lead quality control procedures and initiatives within the department.
  • Adapt to increased production volumes within a short timeframe.
  • Collaborate with Matching and Quality departments to ensure daily jobs are completed.
  • Encourage team members to proactively identify defective materials.
  • Support the Production Manager with job setup, coordination, and clean-up.
  • Verify the quality of outbound goods meets Clarity Software Solutions Inc. quality standards.
  • Use a scanner and computer to check jobs into proprietary software through the QC Check-In tool.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot various machines within the department.
  • Understand complex equipment and software, maximizing equipment capabilities.
  • Assist with general machine repairs and maintenance, training associates on proper techniques.
  • Participate in new product development and test machine capabilities.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Perform general housekeeping, including upkeep, trash removal, and general assistance.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous machine operation experience, preferably in a mail production environment.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience required.
  • Proficient understanding of mailing/printing industry terminology.
  • Basic math and reading skills required.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of navigating web browsers and MS Office 2013 Applications, including Excel.
  • Planning and people management skills required.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to safely lift up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 70lbs (die cutting department).
  • Ability to safely push/pull up to 100lbs.
  • Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel, twist, and bend freely.
