Role Overview:

The Project Manager is tasked with overseeing all facets of assigned projects from initiation to final approval and closure. This role demands adherence to safety protocols, specifications, budget constraints, timelines, and client satisfaction. The Project Manager will also oversee safety initiatives with a strong focus on job site safety. Daily engagement with clients is essential, requiring a high degree of business insight. Collaboration with team members to achieve shared objectives is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sales and Marketing/Product Development teams.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the preparation of budgetary and firm proposals.
  • Conduct and manage specification reviews to define and confirm the scope of work, including exceptions and clarifications.
  • Generate cost estimates for materials and labor.
  • Create and manage project schedules.
  • Review contractual terms and conditions.
  • Lead and coordinate design engineering, procurement, manufacturing operations, quality assurance, safety, and other supporting functions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the internal project team and associated activities.
  • Manage internal and external project meetings, including project status updates, design reviews, and execution planning.
  • Act as the primary contact for customers, managing project execution.
  • Oversee project setup and maintenance within the company ERP system.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, progress tracking, and forecasting.
  • Handle change control management for assigned projects.
  • Prepare project reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate customer acceptance testing and manage related documentation.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for customers regarding all project-related issues.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support corporate initiatives and participate in safety procedures and initiatives.
  • Contribute to quality processes and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide feedback for performance evaluations of project team members.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Actively identify and promote Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgical/Materials Engineering).
  • Years of post-graduate experience in an engineering field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Proficient in developing detailed cross-functional schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Able to read and interpret AutoCAD P&ID Drawings.
  • Experience collaborating with controls engineers to ensure mechanical systems function correctly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) practices is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
