Position Overview: This role is pivotal within the Lifecycle Services department, focusing on the Western Region, specifically areas west of the Mississippi River. Preferred locations include Texas and California, though candidates from across the market will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational execution of service across all territories within the assigned region.
  • Enhance and maintain a world-class customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive service sales development in the region.
  • Manage a team that includes direct reports such as Trainers and Senior Automation Service Technicians.
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of service work aligned with customer expectations.
  • Work closely with other Regional Managers to optimize resource utilization while meeting customer needs.
  • Coordinate with the Capital Installations Division to identify service sales opportunities arising from equipment installations.
  • Maintain effective communication with the sales department regarding customer projects and equipment opportunities.
  • Provide compassionate yet assertive leadership to a diverse team, understanding and addressing their varied needs.

Travel Requirements: This position requires extensive travel to engage with customers and technicians, with an expectation of approximately 50% travel.

Qualifications:

  • A two-year college degree in Automation Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering management, or technical management is preferred, though relevant work or military experience may be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a field service environment is essential.
  • Experience in selling services and negotiating maintenance contracts within a material handling or automation context is required.
  • Five years of experience in a material handling maintenance environment, particularly with Fanuc Robots, conveyors, and related equipment, is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading teams is necessary.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on emotional intelligence and team trust-building.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • In-depth knowledge of field service principles, customer requirements, and technician needs.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs, OSHA regulations, and repair processes across various product lines.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schematics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Performance Metrics:

  • Monitoring recordable safety incidents within the assigned region.
  • Maintaining service technician utilization at 88% or higher.
  • Achieving revenue targets versus forecasts.
  • Ensuring gross margin aligns with forecast expectations.
  • Adding new customers within the territory.
  • Driving year-over-year regional growth.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $125,000-$135,000, with consideration given to experience and geographic location. Adaptec Solutions LLC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, health insurance, 401(k) matching, and education assistance.
