SUPERVISOR:
School Nutrition Manager or designated representative

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that nutritious meals are prepared and served to students.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED. Experience in a diverse work environment is preferred. Must demonstrate the core values of the district: relational, purposeful, reflective, resourceful, courageous, and accountable. Ability to satisfactorily perform all essential functions of the role.

A criminal background check compliant with Bulloch County Board of Education Policy is required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in food service is advantageous.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to the manager or assistant manager, following instructions and executing assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include:
  • Cooking and preparing meals
  • Documenting food service activities
  • Serving meals to students
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Must be capable of lifting (5-45 pounds), carrying, pushing, and pulling. Ability to stand and work for extended periods is essential.

Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to build and maintain relationships characterized by high expectations, teamwork, and collaboration. Flexibility in adapting to daily routines and sensitivity to diverse populations is crucial.


Focus and Concentration:

Ability to maintain workflow amidst frequent distractions and manage multiple tasks with accuracy.

Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines and adjust to new directions without compromising performance.


Independent Decision-Making:

Ability to complete tasks without detailed instructions and manage work priorities effectively.


Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and the school community.


Attendance and Reliability:

Consistent attendance and punctuality are expected. Ability to manage absences according to school policies.


PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Annual evaluations will be conducted by the School Nutrition Manager or designated supervisor in accordance with district policies.
