School Nutrition Manager or designated representative

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in the daily operations of the school kitchen, ensuring the delivery of nutritious meals to students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience working with diverse populations is preferred. Candidates should embody the core values of the district, including being relational, purposeful, reflective, resourceful, courageous, and accountable. The ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily is necessary.

A criminal background check compliant with district policies is required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in food service is advantageous.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Culinary Support Specialist is accountable to the manager and/or assistant manager for adhering to instructions and executing assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include:
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Documenting meal service
  • Serving meals to students
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Must be capable of performing tasks that involve lifting (5-45 pounds), carrying, pushing, and pulling. The ability to stand and work for extended periods is essential.

COLLABORATIVE INTERACTION:
Ability to foster and maintain relationships characterized by high expectations, teamwork, and collaboration. Flexibility in adapting to daily routines and sensitivity to diverse populations is crucial.

FOCUS AND CONCENTRATION:
Ability to maintain workflow and thought processes amidst frequent distractions. Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal errors is expected.

HANDLING STRESS:
Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines and adjust work processes as needed without incident. Maintaining composure in challenging interactions is essential.

INDEPENDENT DECISION-MAKING:
Ability to complete tasks without detailed directions.

ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITIES:
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and deliver quality work by deadlines.

PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION:
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, supervisors, parents, and other stakeholders. Maintaining constructive working relationships is vital.

RELIABILITY:
Ability to report to work punctually and maintain regular attendance. Completing work accurately and in a timely manner is essential.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Annual evaluations will be conducted by the School Nutrition Manager or designated supervisor in accordance with district policies.
